I Have recently bought a new ps3 due to the fact that my last one got YLOD. I was looking to jailbreak it using 3.55 CFW, But when i set it up, I Realised that the firmware that the PS3 was on was 3.66 . This has been a huge problem for me as I know that no new CFW has been released since 3.56. So i am stuck between the problem of staying on 3.66 and waiting to see if any new CFW comes out for that firmware or updating to 4.00 OFW. I have heard that there is supposed to be one released for 4.00 OFW by Kakarotos, but, apparently it will not have the install pakage feature available.

Anyway, What choice do you think is best to do?

if your determined to jailbreak then youu can downgrade, but it is very difficult if you have never attepmted something like it before. i personally would have sold that system and bought one on 3.55 . for you its a matter of opinion really. you may wait and wait and wait. but one may not come out. or you could update and one could coeout tomorrow. But i very much doubt this. *Personal opinion, if wanting jailbreak, return ps3/re sell it, buy 3.55-fw ps3, jailbreak, be happy.* :p

huh UK eh? hmm you Could try EBAY, and buy one from a "top rated seller" that way you know its most likely okay. (this is what i did) or if they have craigslist in UK? or pawn shops maybe or like used games store such as "gamestop" here in US. hope this helps
