(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have decided to upgrade my hdd in my 120gb slim. System is not recognizing my hdd at all. and when i go to the recovery menu 2/5 options give me this error (a serious error has occurred. contact technical support for assistance 8001002b). From my "research" i find that it may be because my "new" hdd was once in fat32 then was put to ntfs and back to fat32 that there is fragmented data that is interfering with the PS3 recognizing it as a legitimate hard drive. I am just wondering if my current attmept at a solution is correct. I am letting Windows Disk Management format the disk (full format, not quick). then i will use Partition magic or something similar to format once to fat32. Is it likely that this will solve the problem?

also, will i be needing my flash drive with ofw on it if and when i get the new hdd working?

Expect the unexpected!
Should work because when you put the HDD in the PS3 asks to Format to the PS3 file system

Yeah, you will need to re-format the PS3 once the hard drive is in.
