didnt used my ps3 for 2 months now..just now i switched it on but it wont run rogero..then i installed multiman, same thing happened it wont run anything just
black screen..i couldnt insert any disc either..the ps3 just wont let it in, im not really sure about this, but is it because of my faulty hdmi cable? yeah its a cheap one and everytime i get into multiman or games it would always lose signal for a few sec..but during gameplay its just fine..i have read certain posts in other forum that this prob could be related to the logic board which related to the bluray drive..so please guys! help me

p.s. for the first 2 times i turned on the ps3 it would just show black screen

have u tried accessing the recovery menu ? if u cant then it could indeed be the logic board, if your PS3 isnt letting you play discs it certainly isnt your hdmi cable

try accessing the recovery menu & restore your file system, its a common black screen problem due to a corrupted HDD

I would just like to point out that there is no such thing as a 'faulty' HDMI cable. It either works fine or it doesnt work at all. HDMI cables send data in 1's and 0's so you willl get the same quality no matter what cable you use. A $1 cable works just as good as a $1200 cable. So the problem isnt your hdmi cable.

I'm assuming it is probably something to do with your blu-ray drive, or one of the connection wires inside the ps3.

i opened the bluray drive but i didnt really know whats really the prob with it, i checked the connection wires, i dont really know how to decide wether its fine or not, i suppose it is where its should be but i dont think this prob is related to the bluray since i rarely use it, i searched the youtube but couldnt fine a good tutorial on how to fix this, can someone shed some light?

does it not read or does it not take the disk in? , plus does your tv reset alot to ps3 video settings , like switches resolution ?
