First things first:
-Slim PS3
-CECH2001A
-E3 Flasher
-E3 Card Reader(Using upgrade file: e3downgrade 12.03.bin)
-Currently on 4.00 OFW

I have successfully completed all of the steps in Khalkedon's tutorial on installing and downgrading the slim PS3 but I have met a road block at the step where I need to put the system into factory/service mode. Just an FYI, I have not yet seen the 'connect controller' screen where I need to power off using the back plug. After I load the e3_downgrade.bin with the 6th switch up only, I power off the system and unplug the power cord in the back to cut off electricity. Then i insert the card reader into the USB slot closest to the disk drive and plug the power cord back in. Then I press POWER+EJECT and the RED LED comes up on the card reader along with a black screen on the tv. The RED LED stays for about 5-8 seconds and then turns off(If I am not mistaken, a BLUE LED is supposed to follow indicating a successful downgrade or put into service mode) The screen remains blank for about 20 seconds and then brings me to the main menu of the ps3 perfectly normal.

I have tried many different things but all give these same results.
