Basically I was hoping some computer whizz will help me out. My mate was telling me earlier how a mate of his told him how to bypass the security (that blocks anyone on the university network from playing online) so that he could connect to XBL. He said it was complicated though. Now I know he'll never get around to coming over and showing me. So does anyone know how he would have done it?

Essentially the gaming society would take your MAC address and sign you up for it or whatever. But I really dont want to have to pay for their registration fees because Im skint (being a student and all). Obviously it cant be that hard if its been done by a guy who doesnt know that much about computers.

Can anyone help me out? Oh and Im on PS3 obviously.

Cheers,

He didnt knock someone off a network. You cant even take your Xbox to school.... we're in University halls. If you change your MAC address and all your other details to the same as your laptop then the network thinks that your Xbox is your laptop. Thats what I heard anyway. But seeing as you cant change the MAC address of your ps3, doesnt look like its possible. Never mind...
