(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I recently bought a 40gb ps3 on ebay on 2.76 and it was $189 from a high rated ebay seller, only bad thing was it had ylod but he fixed it, he did tell me he has been doing this for 6 months he also added that he has only had 1 out of those 6 months that needed a return of ylod, he recommended a fan for it but couldnt find one that had good reviews for 40gb, so any suggestions how to reduce risks of it other then the fan and the amount of time played sense all im using it for is hacking.

Make sure the vents aren't blocked by objects, make sure the vents are a couple inches away from the walls in your room plus keep it dust free by cleaning it often and make sure cool air is getting to it?

Kind of basic/obvious tips but they are helpful Smile

Thanks, if this ebay seller allows me to return item once i get it ima return it and get money back and just pay an extra $100 to a diff seller for a 3.55 ps3 slim, cause i'm afraid the ps3 im about to get for hacking will get ylod even though i'm not going to be on it that much.

Having it elevated and keeping it up from gathering dust is probably the best way to keep it cool. If your into modding your ps3 you could add a LED water cooler if your into showing off and that will keep temps down. Personally when I fixed my ps3 via repaste I never once cared if it would break again and its been 5 months and its still going good lul. Its under constant load to playing blu ray and anime series as well as blazblue and the ocassional cod match.

So yours is still working and do you use fans or no? Cause I bought a 2.76 ps3 and I plan on jailbreaking it once it arrives and just using it to hack, and I plan on buying labtop cooling fan to put underneath it, a 5" fan blowing at the hdd, and a snap on (maybe) fan to blow cold air inside and let heat out, do you think that may reduce my chances even greater at getting ylod again?
