Idk what i did, i have my hard drive backed up like the first few steps told me to though, but anyways this is what happened.

My playstation is telling me

"The System Software connot be run correctly. Press the PS button to try to restart the system.

If the system cannot be restarted, you must reinstall the system software.
Connect storage media that contains update of version 4.11 or Later, and then press START and SELECT buttons at the same time."

i do that with a random card reader that has a microsd in it, with the /ps3/update/ the 4.11 update.
I click START and SELECT, it checks for the an update, finds it and prepares to update, it completes this phase.

but then it goes to the next to looking for update n then it says found update, then i get an error saying corrupted file.

I would download the 4.11 update from sony again, and, while downloading don't use your pc...Then, format your thumb drive again, to fat32, and, make the appropriate folders, and, ensure the file exists on the thumb drive as ps3updat.pup...

I have seen things lately that files can get corrupted if you're using your machine while doing file io intensive stuff....
