I went to gamestop and asked them for the oldest PS3 they had in the back. They brought it out and the guy was happy to check the firmware version for me (you're about to give them a couple hundred bucks, they'll usually agree to do this). It was on 3.41, that's how I got mine ^^

Wow! That's pretty cool. I was thinking of doing that but I only have around $150 to spend so I guess that isn't even an option for me.

Yea unfortunately it will cost a bit more to get it from gamestop. I would also check out ebay, it seems as though there's always a few floating around there

Okay thanks man, I think I'm just going to find a dirt cheap PS3 off Craigslist then buy an E3 flasher and have a jailbroken PS3 for around $190.
