And people say its 4801, but that doesn't work either, and i've heard you can reset it by going into system settings and reset default settings, but i cant do that because im in demo mode! 4801 worked for me, i updated to that dodgy firmware earlier, and iv been strugling with it, but someone on the forum was kind enough to help me out with the code, so yea..

have you tried (i know it sounds daft but...) 0000?

yes it is, via the recovery menu, use the OFW, whack it on usb, get into recovery menu and try to update it through that.
