he Plugs In his USB And Create Folder Called PS3 and inside PS3 Folder Make A Another Folder Called UPDATE and inside UPDATE Folder Place the PS3UPDAT.PUP Inside there and unplug From PC Then Plug Into PS3 then load up recovery mode and he goes To System Update in system recovery mode And Install From USB and message comes up saying No applicable update data was found and my friend try to do it in xmb screen but it didn't work for him please help.

I would help, but I never had encountered something like that, I have an idea, but I don't know if it will screw up your PS3.

I believe it is PS3UPDAT.PUP
Not UPDAT.PUP

.. He should have had a revert on one of the dudes posts that posted the Shop firmware.. Or try to put the old 4.20 normal firmware on to the ps3 through recovery.
