Right now I am not sure if you can. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to, but to be on the safe side, don't until we can confirm it. I will do a little searching around.

if you install CFW and want to change it to other CFW you need to install OFW first

I am about to purchase one of the e3 flashers as well for one of my ps3s sitting around. Can you guys please tell me a reputable site to get it from. And what all will I need to get my system downgraded.

Just the e3 flasher and a downgrade dongle? And by downgrade dongle do you mean a usb memory stick loaded with cfw or something like the trueblue usb dongle? I do not have any systems on cfw, this will be my first time. Basically the reason I want cfw is to be able to data transfer copy protected saves to share them with the trophy community here, and also to be able to run custom games patches like the one released here for Max Payne 3. Thanks so much in advance.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you have to downgrade to 3.41 from Rogero 3.55 via QA flag and recovery menu, and then update to 3.55 OFW. Then you can install whichever CFW you like.- That's the only way you can avoid bricking your PS3.
