I would recommend you to get Geohot's CFW its hard to find now but u can do it...

I use Kmeaw 3.55 cfw. It also has backup support

Kmeaw with rebug installed afterwards is the best imo.

It depends on what you want. If you just want a simple CFW that allows back up managers use Kmeaw. If you want somthing hardcore go rebug 3.55.2. If you want to go copy almost every game in your local retail store and pirate them they you should get a dongle such as a Cobra or True Blue dongle.
Oh and if you want to just host MW2 challenge lobbies use the geohot jailbreak as it doesnt even need to install. (oh but do not use the geohot jailbreak if you have a 1st gen ps3, like if it has 4 USB ports

I have had GeoHotz, Kmeaw, and Rebugs 3.55.2. and i stuck with Kmeaw, but Rebugs is good too. If you dont like one remember you can always switch
