I have a question about resigining a save from one regions game to another *please read before moving mods*

I had a jailbroken ps3 ages ago, and I download 'Sonic's Ulimate Genesis Collection', and got a few trophies that are now on my trophy list. Since then, I have gone back to ofw, and I got given 'Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection' (which is the EU version of the Sonic's collection). I have not started this yet because I don't want two lots of trophies on my list for the same game.

However, I have downloaded saves for both versions from here and elsewhere. I am wondering if it would be possible to resign the saves from the SONIC collection to work on the MEGA DRIVE collection, but would allow me to finish off the trophies for the original SONIC version that I have on my list...
Or would I simply have two lots of trophies on the list?
