Post: Factory Restoring A PS3 Question

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I did some searching before you ask and couldn't get a direct answer so my question is, if i factory restore my ps3, does it update to the latest firmware along with that? Stupid question I know but the little details like that i can never remember :( Ty for any answers unless its lmgtfy. Then i will rip your heart out and force feed it down your windpipe <3

This isnt a noob question at all, my hats off to guys like you who thoroughly do there homework and gather the relevant information rather then jumping in blindly. Nope factory restoring doesnt update your PS3 however you may want to double check that auto update in the XMB isnt on just to be extra safe.

Take note though, that the ps3 doesn't downgrade itself. If you are on 3.7 and restore, it will be 3.7, even if one time before that it was on 3.55. It restores to current firmware, like Savage said though, make sure your auto-update is disabled.
