It isn't a real jailbreak......it is only a store/kiosk/demo firmware which has the install package option but you can't install anything that you want.
Basically it is a scam so don't buy into it.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but does anyone know what the latest jailbreakable firmware is? I'm hoping to see if i can revive my old phat PS3 and see if it's possible to get OtherOS back because i didn't realize how useful it was and by the time i thought about installing it back then they took it out days later. :O

The latest firmware to be jailbroken was v3.55, and their is a OtherOs CFW for it to.
i think mines updated a little above that...Anyway to downgrade that you know? Its a old PS3 so i don't mind taking it apart but i don't really want to pay £70 for a dongle.
