(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a PS3 Slim running OFW (4.25) and I have a Phat PS3 (3.55) with CFW.
I'm trying to data transfer from my 4.25 OFW PS3 to my 3.55 CFW PS3. I do everything correctly and it says I need to update my 3.55 CFW PS3. Is there anyway around this? I'm pretty sure it's because I have the 3.55 CFW PS3 connected to the internet(?).

Also, it says "An Ethernet cable is not connected, or the other PS3 system is not turned on."
People say you need a "crossover" Ethernet cable but I've also read multiple times that you don't need one.

Steps I did:
1) Unplug power cables from both PS3s when they're already off.
2) Plug in the Ethernet cable, connect both systems.
3) Went onto my 4.25 OFW and initiated the transfer. (Transfer data to other PS3)
4) Went onto my 3.55 CFW PS3 and initiated the transfer. (Transfer data from other PS3)
5) Waited.

The way to get around it asking for a system update on your 3.55 when trying to transfer from your OFW to your 3.55 is to have a spoofer on

I have a 4.11 spoofer.. But I'm pretty sure I tried that and it still asked me.
I just googled some and found some YouTube tutorials... However I'm kind of skeptical because.. Well, it's Google/YouTube. I want reliable sources, i.e. NGU / c0dereality. Have you done this yourself or what are your other inputs on this?

Edit:
I installed a 9.99 Spoofer for Kmeaw's CFW (I'm running Kmeaw's CFW).
I spoofed it to 9.99, trying the data transfer now.. I left the internet connection enabled. Lets see how this goes..

Try this You must login or register to view this content.

-You need to have your 3.55 ps3 spoofed to the same firmware you want to transfer from or higher for it to work.

Alright, thanks.
I'm unspoofing right now and uninstalling any spoofs I have right now.
I'll let you know if it works or not.

Edit:
It's allowing me to data transfer. It has started. It says it's going to take two hours but the time hasn't moved/isn't moving. I'm assuming it will take a while..

I'm 13% in as of this message being posted.
My slim is only 160GB and my Phat is a whopping 500GB.. I have close to about 100gb transferring in total (45GB/140GB).
Soon I'll be getting an External Hard Drive and possible laptop Hard Drives to store patches on, so I don't need to data transfer all the time.
