(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My PS3'S problem is that the ps3 does not read discs e.g. Call of duty black ops or CD/DVDS. When It takes a disc in it sounds like it is reading it and no disc icon shows up on XMB, I can eject discs if I press the eject button on the front of the console, but I cannot play games or back them up. Yeah Package files do install and they run but the drive does not read or play the discs inserted? Can someone help me with this? I just want to play backups and install them unless there is an alternative? but I would like the drive to be fixed permanantly. My PS3 is actually a motherboard which was purchased from ebay I then switched it with my other ps3 motherboard which is on 3.56 and I also connected the other parts from my 3.56 to my 3.55 motherboard. I was given the blu ray board with the motherboard which I had to switch inside the blu ray drive which was the 3.56 one.

Things to note...
1. I have connected all cords properly
2. The blu ray works on my 3.56 ps3
3. The ps3 is missing its top cover ( I don't see why that should be a problem)
4. I have tried to see if its a cfw problem and its not
5. I have tried remarrying using the 3.55 remarrying tutorial on the net

PS3 SETUP:
Motherboard was purchased on eBay and I also received the blu ray board
SLIMLINE 250GB
3.55.2 REBUG CFW

have you opened your ps3 and checked if the ribbon blu-ray cable is connected properly?

Before you mess with anything, does it load DVDs and CDs? Might be a bad laser reading the Bluray discs.

No, it doesn't read those either. Packages still install and run

i have the same problem i have faty was 60 g upgraded to a 80 g dont read discs i can install Packages but they dont run screen gos black stays like that duno wht to do any help
