Okay so i've been looking at installing CFW on my PS3 (4.20 OFW) for a while now, looked at buying a flasher, and even a pre-cfw ps3. But today i was thinking if it would be possible to get the files of a ps3 3.55 firmware, load it onto a brand new HDD, format it to the right file system and then place it inside my ps3 or with a sata HDD reader? Would that work providing i can get an image of a 3.55 ps3?
Just throwing it out there, thanks for any answers.
Dan.
If you was to put it into the playstation then, and then format it like it's asking you to, then take it out, place the 3.55 firmware onto it then put it back into the ps3, would that be a possibility?

No, because the firmware is not stored on the hdd.
