So when i'm getting it i shall do this?

1. Downloading official firmware 3.55 and put it in: USB Device>PS3>UPDATE
2. Going to: update via storage media, and then updating from 2.41 offcial to 3.55 official.
3. Downloading custom firmware 3.55 (Geohot) and put it in: USB Device>PS3>UPDATE
4. Going to: update via storage media, and then updating from 3.55 official to 3.55 jailbreak.

Please respond if i'm doing it wrong

Download to 3.55 oficial install and after install custom firmware kmeaw 3.55 and after install rogero 4.30v2.0.3 enjoy

It would be better if you did it in recovery mode.

What is recovery mode?

It is where you can update/recover lost data/reformat the hdd without chance of brick.

Do this:

1. Make sure PS3 is turned OFF.
2. Hold the power button down until you hear about three beeps. The ps3 will turn off itself.
3. Now hold the power button down until you hear rapid beeps then let go of the power button.
4. You are now in recovery mode.

For recovery mode, just turn the ps3 off then hold the power button till it turns off again, then hold the power button down again untill you hear 1 then 2 beeps, now let go and your in recovery mode. then goto option 6. update system.

And what does it do?

Are you sure you want to use Geohot's CFW? There are much better ones out. e.g: kmeaw or rebug.

Whats the different? because i'm only using it for challenge lobbies.

Well i guess if you're only going to use for challenge lobbies just do as you would have done... But still why buy a jb ps3 just for challenge lobbies?!
