(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I have a working 3.55 ps3 and i went to upgrade from a 40gb hdd to an 80gb(pulled from a E01 ps3) and when i try to install the 3.55 firmware i get 1 of two messages,
A serious error has occurred, (8002F2CF) Please contact sony tech. support.
OR
No applicable update found

Every time i use the same method; PS3 < UPDATE < then firmware PS3UPDAT.PUP and sometimes i get the error but most times its the no update found. I've tried two different flash drives formatted on ntfs(also tried fat32)
And whats even more weird is when i put back the original hard drive it does the same thing, i cant even get that to work when it should just still pick it up...Any help?

First check to see if your pup files are good perhaps find an MD5 checksum are you trying to install the OFW from menu or recovery mode? i would try recovery mode first after installing OFW try recovery mode for installing CFW

If the above doesn't work try burning the firmware to a DVD disk and installing it from recovery mode
