You mean the 60GB model or CECH-A01 model number. This PS3 is NAND flash memory which the E3 flasher is built for solderless NOR memory installation. This means whether you use the E3 flasher or the Progskeet, some soldering will most likely be required.

Now onto the firmware issue. The 999 downgrader only works for PS3s already on a 4.XX CFW which I'm guessing you're not seeing as how you are asking for jailbreaking help. No USB downgrades are possible and anyone telling you (especially YouTube) different is FAKE!

Your ONLY option is to downgrade it through hardware like with the E3 flasher or the Progskeet.
