Nope. You can sign in on any 4.xx CFW using a spoofer made by Rebug.

4.30 REX. Download from the website. Than, rename the .PUP file PS3UPDAT.PUP if not already done so. Plug in your removable storage media. In your removable storage media, make a folder called PS3 and in the PS3 folder, make a folder called UPDATE. Put the PS3UPDAT.PUP in the UPDATE folder. Install via XMB or recovery menu.

before install a higher cfw over 3.55 need to rehash and enable qa flag..otherwise you will get a brick..and get your rootkey and flash dump..maybe if you get a brick you can unbrick with this files..
