Hey all,
I've been trying to mod my version of GTA IV for a couple of days now and I seem to come up with the same issue every time I try to install the mod. first of all here is what I'm using:
PS3 FAT 500GB running Rogero 4.30 CFW
GTA IV BLES00229 1.00 updated to 1.06 Patch on internal HD
Latest version of MultiMan
Pink House Mod V3
No GTA IV saves or gamedata installed previous to the issue.
Okay so the issue here is; after I've installed the game from scratch and let the game data install, I then play the game for a few minues till the first mission is passed and saved. I then close the game and in Multiman, copy the update.img from the mod files into dev_hdd0/game/BLES00229/USRDIR and replace the original. Once I've done this I remount the game in MM and start it. The problem then starts, once the game starts to load and the different artwork is being shown for the game it just loops forever. The music for the loading screen eventually stops and the images just keep looping.
Now to solve this, because I made a backup of the update.img I can restore and it works fine again. I just can't get the modded version to run. Am I missing some thing? Maybe the Pink House doesn't run on CFW beyond 3.55?
Any advice on this would really help me out.
Thanks
Thatcher
A few potential problems. It could be a problem with Multiman, although based on the details provided and that it works with normal patch that seems unlikely, but I wouldn't know how to fix a multiman issue anyway so i'll give you something to try for GTAIV itself.
Firstly, do not replace the update.img file. Instead, rename it to update.backup_img, this will change it's file type, but don't worry about that, just click yes if prompted. Then put the Pink House update.img there (obviously ensuring you've renamed that to 'update.img' as required). Long shot, but it might work. Try posting this thread in the GTAIV specific section of the forum, you'll probably get a better resolution
