Basically I'm trying to get CFW on my old fat ps3 with OFW 4.41 model: CECH-C04, is there any easy way to downgrade this with a USB? Or do I have to use Progskreet if I want to downgrade it correctly?

you would need a e3 flasher, im not sure if a progskreet would work

My friend said he downgraded his ps3 in recovery mode with just a usb with this software he found on youtube. Is he lying or not? @blindz

So its completely impossible with just a USB? And yeah all those links on youtube always lead to survey websites, and just seem to good to be true. Most of them are fake I think. If you can actually get me the link I can try it out.

Progskeet does work, but e3 flasher it's more noob friendly.

Oh ok because I was looking at this stickied thread here, and it says that for the PS3 version CECH-CXX I can only use Progskeet.

But yeah E3 Flasher looks easier to do, although apparently it can't be used with NAND PS3 models :S.

E3 Flasher would not work on your model PS3 because it is a NAND FLASH PS3 and the E3 Flasher is only for NOR FLASH PS3s. Also you can ONLY! downgrade a PS3 with a flasher, and in your case it would be the Progskeet.

These questions get so annoying, you can't downgrade from 3.56+ to 3.55 without a hardware flasher, ex. E3 Flasher.
