Honestly I don't Xploder works on anything besides ps3 games I'm sorry to say, What magic and items are you looking for.. being a huge fan of ff8 myself maybe I can help

Not sure if you can decrypt PS2/PS1 saves on PS3 yet. I think .psv is a different format than normal PS3 saves.
