Damage your system severely? It just wouldn't load up i don't think, certainly won't damage your system though.

Oh ok, well when I try and load up my mw2 online the screen just goes black and freezes... Is that becasue the patch is DEX? Or is there another reason? If so do you know how to fix it?

No have you edited the patch? Thats just probably because of mad editing, it used to happen to me when i edited mine or maybe your using a 1.11 on 1.14 or vice versa

Oh wait what? I need to edit them? Ahh I never it thought of editing it :s Is it essential? Yeh I fixed the black screen by just deleting the patch off the system. It was probably DEX thats why or yeh as u say, the editing. Gonna look up how u edit patches now, is it specific to the patch or is there one way to edit all of them dyu know?
