You do not update when you are in KIOSK. So, yes, if you are on 1.12, you will not update and are able to log in.

No I have Kiosk & the reverted but when I install Kiosk can I still go online on Bo2 to do duplication ?

Yes.

But I do believe duplication has been patched on 1.12. You need to go to a previous one, which, without Data Transferring, is currently impossible.
