Post: Clarifying E3 Linker soldering
08-04-2013, 10:45 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I just want to clarify if I understand correctly. I am planning to solder the E3 linker to my PS3.

I have the SUR-001 board:

So solder 2 grounds, and everything else, and do NOT solder SBCE?

I am only downgrading, not planning to use Dual Boot.

If anyone can confirm this please.

See the attached picture.

Thanks.. Smile

Why not just get an E3 Flasher so you don't have to solder and it will make your life a whole lot easier.

Hi right, its more easier. But since you got one already, there's no point in buying another one :P

Try selling this I guess. Or just keep it if he wants, it's not that expensive to buy an E3 Flasher, usually just $90. So idk man, it's up to him.

Neither of you could confirm, so it seems like I am a step ahead of you guys. Thanks for the clip suggestion, however I read that it is really crappy.

Don't believe everything you read, and I guarantee you that the E3 Flasher is much easier than this soldering.

Thanks..

I am gathering information from multiple sources, it matches so far. The soldering points that I provided in the image, should be accurate. Even on top of that, I was posting it here, just to double confirm it.

The reason why I want to use the E3 Linker is because I am bought on ebay a used E3 Flasher limited along with E3 linker, it also comes with the clip... However I read that even if the clip is new, a lot of people have connection problems. I don't trust tapes to secure it etc... Plus since the clip is used, I assume it may even be in worse condition or already destroyed. Also I don't mind soldering, as long as I know where all the wires should go.
