You could do what sonyblack has said and check the table he has put up there ^^but my only argument to this is if your planning on jailbreaking a ps3 from walmart give up . as the majority if not all ps3s thats stores stock are all on a higher updated firmwire than what yu need to be on to jailbreak your console . ex when i purchased my ps3 slim 5 months ago there firmwire version was 4.40 so if its jailbreak your going for go ebay and look about if its not and your just looking for a ps3 then just buy one out of walmart or if on an occasion you need a certain firmwire to do something then look at the table above ^^^ . hope i helped

if you want to jailbreak and are buying a new console i suggest buying one already jailbroken off of ebay
