So , i decided to make this thread because im thinking about buying a Jailbreaked PS3 , but before doing that i wanted to know what im doing and get information so i wont mess up with something , so i was wondering if is there any PS3 Hacking Guide telling whats :

Whats an eboot
Whats Dex / Cex / Rex
What can be done with a Jailbreaked PS3
All that stuff , if it exists please link me the website or a NGU thread that already has ALL of that.

Jailbreaking a PS3 system - Find the jailbreak you want, name it PS3UPDAT.PUP & move it to the folder directory ... PS3 > UPDATE > *FILE HERE* PS3UPDAT.PUP - Like that. Pretty simply. Obviously there's more depths into it so you don't brick your system but it's doubtful you would.

Whats an eboot - Sony's keys are in it & it's for the game to know that the game is okay to boot up & play. The game searches the EBOOT for game data as well. You can edit the EBOOT.BIN as well for your CFW to play games. My EBOOT.BIN for Mw3 is a Debugged Eboot because I'm on DEX. I have advanced UAV online all the time, no recoil, white players, and Rex boxes. There's Force Host EBOOTS as well as XP lobby eboots for CEX & DEX.

Whats Dex / Cex / Rex - DEX is a Developer firmware CFW's can get onto. It lets you edit the memory of the game. i.e. Real Time Editing/Modding. To RTM/E you must have your Ps3 on wired connection as well as connect your Ps3 to ProdG Target Manager at first. CEX is what Ps3's come on retail. It's the normal mode even regular CFW's are on it. You must convert to DEX, which is pretty easy. Look up DEREKTROTTER's tutorial on how to! REX is a Rebug firmware, which is a CFW. It allows the switching between CEX & DEX easily once on DEX. Most Rebug firmwares are on REX which starts you on CEX & you can convert to DEX then switch between DEX/CEX.
What can be done with a Jailbreaked PS3 - Many things can be done with a jailbroken Ps3. You can backup games to your harddrive (pirating), modify games, real time edit, be on DEX firmware, run unsigned code.

There you have it. Simple run down on jailbroken Ps3's. Don't look for a whole thread on jailbreaks, research around when you need something like the majority of us, you'll come to know a whole lot about them after you toy with it.

How is that exactly what I said? Just because the same knowledge doesn't mean I copied & pasted. Why would I? I know all this stuff & I'm sure I've seen that post before, but I didn't even open a new tab when I typed it.

What it matters its that he helped me understanding some stuff about hacking PS3 and somethings i need to know , i dont care if he copy and pasted from other thread what it matters its that he helped me and replied to my thread.

First off, this is 100% genuine and not copied from anywhere. The answers given are good and offer info that helps the OP out. Secondly, I do recommend the OP reading my thread for more info if he/she so chooses.

@Hoen- Good answers and thanks for helping out the noobs to PS3 jailbreaking. I know it can be annoying when people ask for sources or if you wrote it yourself but these people are just trying to help the community as well. ALL jailbreaking scenes have leechers and Dark_Lord was just trying to protect against it. I hope you understand this and in the future lay off the harsh insults at first. If the person still criticizes you after you calmly explained that you didn't copy+paste, then you can start the offensiveness. Of coarse, you can just ignore me if you want.

@DARK_LORD_123- Thanks for trying to protect people's work. Even if he did copy+paste my work, I would not mind one bit. My thread is a collective of many people's works and it was made with the very intention to help people understand things.
