For starters, it NEEDS to be on 3.55. If it's not, don't bother.

Your better off buying a ps3 already jailbroken. Check out the auction place here on ngu(you need 100+ posts to look at it)

You can get a E3 Flasher to downgrade your PS3 though some PS3 Slims are not E3 Flasher compatible therefore you need to check your console whether it can be Downgraded.
