When I run games off my external hard drive OR leave my ps3 on for more than 5-10 mintues the fans start working rediculously hard to keep the ps3 cool and it is reaally annoying and my family hates it so i can barely use it, please help.

have u opened it up to check its not really dusty or the thermal paste is shot?

That is a sign of your PS3 over heating buddy, you need to have it in a well ventilated place. Try to replace the Thermal Paste inside too Smile

To lazy to open up my PS3. I have the same my parents just have to deal with it or have to buy a new PS3. :3
