Post: CFW Downgrade and Help?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello I just repaired my 40 gb ps3 3 that I jailbroke a long time ago. So when I boot it up, and I go to the system information tab on the xmb it says 9.99 on the firmware version. It still gives me the option to install packages and such. I wanted to know how I can install the PS3Ita 4.21 cfw from where my ps3 sits now? Can anyone help me with this please? You can also reach me on skype if needed.

Do you see the Rebug logo when you boot up the PS3?
Also, if you jailbroke it then you should know what it is buddy. I mean c'mon on man!!!
Did you do whole cex 2 dex conversion before?
I'm pretty sure you would remember that process of downgrading/or being to 3.55 to dump your eid_root_key and then installing DEX CFW and then dumping/nand to convert it from CEX to DEX with CMD line.
If not then...you're on CEX

And if you wanna install PS3Ita 4.21 cfw, then you just need to download the pup file and place it in USB flash drive.
Folder structure should be PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP
Plug in the USB flash drive in the PS3
On the XMB under "Settings" select "System Update" then "Update via Storage Media"

If not then try through recovery.

I know I am not on DEX, and every time I go to install a new custom firmware it says no applicable update data found in the xmb. As for doing it in recovery mode it takes forever to load then it tells me the same thing. Although in recovery mode it says please use a 3.55 or higher. What should I do?

You may have to disable your spoofer in order to do anything. Read up on it as you may need to qa flag as well.
