Post: PS3 will not find CFW after new harddrive was installed

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Last night I was playing on my 80GB PHAT PS3 (which is on Rebug 4.46.1 REX DEX firmware), everything was working fine until I woke up the next morning to find a prompt stating that my hardrrive was corrupted and it needed to be rebuilt. This has happened before, its a frequent occurrence. After it had reached 100% the system would just stick on a black screen and the only way to turn it off was to switch it off from the back. I decided to go into recovery with th ehopes of re installing the rebug firmware but to not avail; it'd just stick in the recovery menu and freeze when I selected the update firmware option. I tried every single other option but it would just prompt me with a message stating "Preparing the PS3 System" (something like that) and it would just stick there)

I then decided to install a new harddrive, but my PS3 doesn't find any of the firmwares i'm putting in.I've tried every single REBUG firmware and I'm stuck. I don't know what to do.

""Connect storage media that contains update data of version 2.40 or later, and then press the start and select buttons at the same time."

I've tried 3.55 OFW, 3.55.4 REBUG, 4.21.3 REBUG, 4.46.1 REBUG REX edition... I just need some input on what to do next. Thanks. :vince:

EDIT: FOUND FIX. NEEDED TO INSTAND D-REX EDITION AND NOT REX.

Try going to Rogero or PS3its 4.50 and downgrade from there...
