depends I know that you need a blu-ray drive connected to run homebrew on some PS3.

Hello,
If you have a console that are downgradeable, it goes without problems.
You just have to be careful after downgrading that you install the correct software with "no BD patch" and not the normal CFW.
I also have a PS3 without drive and I am running so far everything without any problems.
For games which don´t need a disc, I suppose multiman for games which requires a disc I suppose Iris Manager.

Thanks for the information, is there anyway to have to no bd patch and play online? with the latest 4.53 cfw?
