this is what i do i downgrade to 3.55 ofw ( just to be safe ) then i turn the ps3 off take out the hdd that is currently in the 3.55 ofw ps3 then i put the new hdd in then it comes up with the hdd needs to be formatted bla bla bla do that and have 3.55 ofw on your usb plugged into the ps3 then it'll install the 3.55 update and then your done and also make sure you have no discs in your ps3 blu ray drive cause that'll update you to ofw if you do

Yes but im useing aother ps3s harddrive

i did this the other day mate i upgraded my 120gbcfw to 320gb from my ofw its easy!

simply install 3.55cfw or ofw on your jailbreak then remove any disc or usb connected swap hard drives and then when you switch it on it should promt you to install a firmware of 3.55 or higher


remember it formats so you wont have anything on the hardrive and if it dont work or you messed something up you can put your old one back in

Your not going to lose your jailbreak but you will lose everything else on your ps3 if you dont backup your stuff
