At this moment you would have to do it the old fashion way. Meaning you would have to use e3_doangrade.bin and FSM dongle to downgrade. Ps3 Flash Tool has not been updated to 4.55 just would have to wait for that.

didn't sony remove factory service mode from newer official firmware around 4.4x to try and stop downgrading?
or was that auto patcher just created to make it a faster process.

I got a question since you know how to mod PS3's. I've tried re-flashing my PS3 with a patched dump and it does work. Now the PS3 just has no signal and wont turn off unless I cut the power from it. Is it perma bricked? I know the dump was good because PS3 Flash Tool said it was good. So

What is the serial ending part of the model starting at cech of the ps3? Try to remove the hdd and access the recovery menu. It should say no hdd. Another test is to Remove the bluray and check if it turns on with out the bluray. Last test if your able to put pressure on the fan area- lean on your ps3- and try to turn it on if it turns on like this then you have a gpu issue.

I haven't heard that news about sony removing the FSM from 4.4X.
Yes, the auto flash patcher was created to make it the process way faster and eliminating the need of FSM.
But, since a new 4.55 update has came out, neither has Rogero, Proskopina or SMHabib have update the patch1n.bin & patch1r.bin, in the DATA folder, for 4.55. So, by my knowledge the only way to downgrade from 4.55 is the good ole fashion way. But, I haven't done it that way for a while.

So, what your telling me is that PS3s below 4.4X can only be downgrade with either FSM or NO FSM?
Also, that PS3s higher than 4.4x can only be downgraded using the NO FSM method?

I find that really odd Alchy

what i am saying is i thought i read some where that the factory service mode was removed and the only way to hack it was to use the no fsm way. i have not kept up to date on everything on the truth in that. but if the original way still works i need a dummy console to make sure as im not going to risk any of my customers consoles on bricking them. at this time i do not have a hacked console available to tell though.

Here is a video of a guy on 4.53 using the ole fashion way and had no problem getting into to FSM.
