(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGU, I have a 80gb ps3 with cfw installed. I want to upgrade it to 500gb but I don't want to lose my cfw when I get it. would it remove my cfw when it wants an update installed? or would I just install the cfw pup ?

Your firmware is stored in your bluray, not your HDD therefore you can switch hard drives Smile.

Not sure what Joelrca is talking about!!! stare
The firmware is installed in the PS3 memory and HDD. When you wanna switch HDD all you need to do is re-install the CFW your currently on into the new HDD. Presto you are done.
Make sure the internet is disabled and no GAME in blu-ray drive.
You will not lose your CFW when swapping out HDDs.

If your on ps3ita DEX you should be able to just switch them and then the firmware will recognize that you have a new hdd and it will just install it on your new hdd. That's what it did for me. Hope it works for you if your on the firmware Smile
