(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi total noob here, I'm thinking of purchasing another ps3 to cfw it. I currently own the latest 500gb slim version but would it be better to purchase another to do this as I don't want it to affect my psn account.

I'm not going to pretend that I either know anything about or how to do it. I'm looking for advice basically, is it easy to do? What are the benefits of doing it etc.

Any help would be gratefully received, I also will accept all abuse for being clueless!

You need either phat or slim version also check the model number at the back of your ps3 if it's downgrade able, I believe your ps3 is currently running on 4.55 update you need to downgrade it to 3.55 using e3 flasher or you can just check NGU people do downgrade services to ps3s for about £30, if you contact them they will probably put you on any cfw for an extra £10 max.

That's the cheapest thing you can do, or you can buy a ps3 that's already on any cfw, I bought mine for £120, also if you buy a jailbroken ps3 ask the seller if the console I'd is banned or not because if the console I'd is banned you need to spend another £30 to get a new console id so that you can get online.

my advice is u buy a cfw ps3.. bcoz cfw ps3 always have a chance of getting it banned from going online.....

so if that happened to ur cfw ps3 u will still have ur ofw ps3 to enjoy online content....

if u wanna b naughty or a pirate scum u can use ur cfw ps3 :lol:
