1) if i play online with cex will son ban me?
2) do i need a CCAPI? or can i just use multiman?
3) if i sign out put mods on and restore my ps3 to ofw is that safer then?

1) playing with a jailbroken ps3, either being CEX or DEx, there is always a risk!!!! No 100% bullet-proof way to avoid this.
2)CCAPI and MM are 2 different things bro, like apples and oranges.
CCAPI is used to RTM and MM is for running backups, FTP and file manager.
MM is essential and CCAPI is not.
3) You wont be able to run mods on OFW. Also, there is no safe way to MOD!!!

i mean if i put a patch for mw2 or cod4 and then went back to ofw would they still work?

No, they would not.
