What kind of errors are you getting exactly? Or where exactly in the process are you getting stuck at?

I get stuck because it says No applicable update data was found. And I tried in recovery and regular mode.

I'm guessing it was probably already converted to DEX. If it is you will have to update to a DEX CFW such as 4.50 PSITA, 4.46.1 Rebug D-REX or convert back to CEX with 4.46.1 Rebug D-REX/REX. Heres a thread on converting from CEX2DEX or DEX2CEX: You must login or register to view this content.

did you rename the file PS3UPDAT.PUP? also create a folder in the root of the USB drive, name it PS3 & within that folder create another folder & name that UPDATE.

I will try and update to psita 4.50

you also have to use the furthest right usb slot

You have to install dex firmware you can't go to Kmeaw because Kmeaw is cex you need dex firmware
