Whenever i try and turn off my ps3 the green light will start to blink,ive left it for 20 minutes at one stage and it was still blinking.

I tried to put my finger on the button to try and shut it down but still nothing.

The only way i can shut down my ps3 is by turning it off from the back,i dont like doing it because im afraid of ruining the Hard drive .

This problem has only been happening recently.

Any help would be appreciated,

it's supposed to blink green when turning off for "20 mins" i dont beleave that. But if thats the case then turn from the back im almost postive nothing will happen but would reccomd not

It was definitely 20 minutes.
At one stage i turned off my PS3 and went to bed thinking my ps3 turned off, woke up the next morning to find out my playstation was running all night trying to shutdown.

That happens too me sometimes.

Yeah just turn the plug off. Then when you turn the PS3 on it should say something like an error occured and do you want to send this to sony. Something along those lines but yeah, if it does it again, just turn it off by the plug.

my slim does this all the time, when im in a game an turn it off by the remote it flashes green , i have seen it do it all night before its weird as hahahaa
