I'm on ita 4.5 and have the same issue, whenever you search for a new IP and connect to it this happens, on xmb and connect it comes up an error has occurred but keeps running but freezes once in game, if you don't get the error its instant freeze, after reboot its fine, if yu have a set ip on your system its all good but i can't because then my NAT changes to moderate

Use This tutorial, its what i use and i don't get that issue
