1. What are the chances of getting console banned when using a CFW PS3 that can sign in online?
2. If chances are high/low what are your suggestions on what to do and how to stay safe?
3. What CFW is the most stealth? DEX or CEX?
4. What games should I not mod?
5. Can CEX firmware also RTM/RTE instead of DEX?
6. Also how long has it been since you've been using a CFW PS3 online without getting banned? If banned, how long did you enjoy being online?
7. If I sign in on a OFW PS3, then E3 flash that same console to CFW, but I don't sign in on it on the same account. Will Sony still ban that account that's been signed in before the console was modified?

Thank you NGU, the reason why I'm asking all of this is because my friend is going to give me his ylod fat PS3 which I'm going to fix and then probably downgrade it.

Depends on the game you play. But when you mod, you WILL get banned sooner or later

Play offline if you are scared of getting banned

3. What CFW is the most stealth? DEX or CEX?
This differs between people. Personally DEX is more stealth than CEX. DEX has less checks since it's mainly for devs that make games not normal users like myself. CEX now has CCAPI which can memory edit, but you still get banned just as fast(this is mostly by sony (cid ban) not account ban like if you were on DEX)

4. What games should I not mod?
ANY game that is new I don't suggest modding. Ghost is the worst to mod. It's instant ban, same with black ops 2.
Mod mw3 and lower unless you use a pub CID(don't ask for a place to get it)

5. Can CEX firmware also RTM/RTE instead of DEX?

I've been using a private CID for around 12-13 months no ban. BUt I don't mod bo2 and ghost anymore. I usually get account banned if anything.

You can get around an account ban be DEACTIVATING the account (in account management on the ps3 after you are signed in) and this should* prevent you from getting that account banned. I don't suggst putting an ofw account on cfw unless you understand it's possible it can get banned at anytime

* = Anything is possible and you can get banned even after doing this

Thank you very much Citadel for your helpful answer. 12-13 months that's quite impressive. So you said you just didn't mod Ghosts and BO2 correct? Also when you install free games onto your PS3 will it be noticeable?

When you install free games you use homebrew app caled multiMAN. mutliMAN makes a folder calld GAMES you put the game(s) in that folder(if you use an external like i do, you make a folder calld GAMES on the fat32 device(or it won't get read) and then you put games inside that and mM will read it

Yeah I modded ghost before their crazy anti modding system shit but still got a few account bans. But bo2 is just useless. It reads your hard drive and sends the reports back to Sony.

You can mod BO2 on the latest update since 1.16 SC58 released his ban bypass and so did a few others BO2 you can definitely mod. As for Ghosts there's a new Anti Ban that pretty much works.
