Post: PS3 Fan Control?
07-06-2014, 03:02 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I feel as though my PS3 is about to explode every time I play a game on my JB PS3..

The fan is quiet and then goes full blast whenever I play a game.

Is there any way to control the fan and the temperature of it?

Like a pkg idk.

Your ps3 is doing that because it's getting to hot. My guess would be the RSX chip because it has a smaller heat sink but I'm not sure. Your thermal paste could be dried out and or may not even be there. Try replacing the thermal paste. I use Artic silver 5 but a lot of people use different things. As for a pkg I use ita manager since I'm on 4.50ita. Depending what firmware you're on look for a application called control fan utility. Good luck Smile

How would you use PS3 ita manager? I'm on the same firmware as you. 4.50 DEX Firmware.

Press triangle and click tools. Then go to fan and cache or something like that. And then where it says fan settings just put that to "By user"

So when I set it to "by user" do I have to change any of the settings?

I didn't. I just changed it to by user. Then I scrolled down and clicked set settings or what ever it is.

I have that bookmarked... It won't work on my PS3ita 4.50. Also, i've been using PS3ita manager for the fan control. Thanks guys!

Yes, i figured out that setting it by user, it turns my ps3 fan down. So I use payload and set my own speed with the right temp.
