(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I see all these tutorials on the e3 flasher. Is it really a 20 step process, or just a memory card with a 3.55 cfw pup file on to it and inserted into the e3 flasher and then follow the guide that hopefully the e3 team provide with their product? Is 'checking the dump' from the ps3, to determine if the model is hackable? Because I have checked my model can be jailbroken and downgraded. Is the process easy enough, for someone who can follow easy steps?

Not sure why you say 20 steps!

1)open the PS3
2)install e3 flasher
3)update e3 flasher (if you haven't)
4)create backups
5)validate backups
6)patch up the backup
7)reflash backup
8.) install the CFW

Checking or validating the dump is to insure that your BIOS is properly saved just in case something were to happened when reflashing.
You can potentially revive your ps3 if it were to semi-brick. That is why backing up and validating the dumps/BIOS is very important
