I've even successfully modded my CoD BO1 save several times now, hosted XP lobbies, and even had someone give me the Invisible/God Mode class. However, I have not jailbroken a PS3 yet and I have a question.

Why can you not jailbreak a PS3 without flashing it if it has newer updates? I understand fully that hard modding the PS3 is the only way to JB it, but I'm curious as to why this is. I'm very familiar with flashing other hardware such as tablets, phones, etc. so I'm very curious as to why we can not simply USB hookup the PS3 to a PC and JB it or why there is no other way this can be done.

To fix the sig you have to go in the usercp and make it show/make one.

The thing with the ps3 is it has the FW version stored on a nand/nor(external from the hdd unlike the iphone and andriod phones and such devices making them able to be jailbroke(well Apple unsigns firstmware when new are released so you can't downgrade them either really)) so you need the flasher to OVERWRITE the nand/nor which is where the E3 Flasher comes in handy

I do really appreciate your response though, that's exactly what I was wondering about. So basically we can't
just wire up to the PS3 with a PC because Sony set it up where that's not possible. I suppose they thought it
might become an issue and wanted to make jailbreaking as difficult as possible.



I do appreciate it, but I'm not going to bother jailbreaking my system myself. For what I would pay
and the time it would take me to learn, and the possibility of screwing up, I'll just send it to someone
via Ebay and let them do it for me. Since there are plenty of guys offering to do it cheap who have
plenty of positive sales and feedback I feel like I'll be alright that way.

When I get on my computer I'll take a picture of the settings you have to change xDD
