The problem is that the PS3 freezes at a black screen whenever I try to launch it. The version was apparently region-free so I don't think it's a problem regarding that.

Even i had a similar problem with the game Injustice: Gods Among Us. and with assassins creed 3&4 they self quit.

Did you find a way to fix it?

I've tried enabling BD mirror, but my game is on an external hard drive so I selected external in game settings. It still did not work. Thanks though.

It still freezes at the black screen as usual. Have you tried a downloaded version of the game and did it work for you?

Is their a PS3 disk in the BD while you tried this?

Yeah, I have black ops 1 in the disk tray.
