(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay, so I'm happily playing COD modding away on a cfw ps3 when suddenly the game quits, ps3 beeps three times...shuts off...blinking red.
Let it cool, vacuum dust, not too much actually, wait a bit, play again. This cycle repeats for a day or so.
For shits and giggles, I put the ps3 upside down and tried it again.
The fuckin thing has been great for three weeks.
I was going to have it re-flowed or whatever, and add better fans to it, but now I wonder if I need to bother.
Anyone else have the same experience?
If you have a ps3 acting like mine, try it.
Mine is a FAT ps3 as well.
Thoughts?

Did you say you flipped it upside down and it was fine cause if that was so you had the fan down on the ground and it was over heating

Did you happen to be running the Fan utility? That happened for me on my old PHAT, seems like the fan doesn't run as fast as it should.

Thanks for the replies you guys,
I had the PS3 on a shelf, never on the carpet or floor, however I believe you are right about it was overheating. It was dusty as f**k. Definitely gives better airflow upside down!
No fan utility, seems to kick up on it's own when it wants to, console manager says it's 87 degrees and never changes. If that can be trusted as accurate.
I haven't really felt the need to turn it back over the "right way" and see how long she runs... I kinda figure "If it ain't broke, don't f**k with it."
