I have been away from the ps3 cfw scene for a long time.
I recently just started to read up on everything again and i'm a bit lost.

I currently have a FAT 40GB PS3 (CECH03) and it is on OFW 3.55
The BluRay drive is broken - It has no laser in the drive.

I would like to know the "best" way for me to go in terms of firmware.
Would I be able to just install Kmeaw 3.55 and the latest Multiman and be able to play games from an external HDD or are some more steps to it?

Thanks for your reply. I have already looked through all of those stickys and a few other posts on other forums. I can't find a clear answer on what is the best cfw, manager, patches, etc that need to be considered because of my bluray drive.
